ALG Welcomes New Program Manager
Nakita Afaha has recently joined the GALILEO team as program manager at Affordable Learning Georgia.
Nakita is a native of Virginia, but she has called Georgia home for two decades. She earned her bachelor's degree in business education from James Madison University in Virginia and holds a master's degree in adult education from Troy University in Alabama. She also holds an education specialist degree in instructional technology from the University of West Georgia.
Before coming the University System Office, Nakita worked within the USG at Georgia State University, Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of West Georgia in roles centered on instructional design and online education. She also previously worked at Georgia Piedmont Technical College as an academic advisor. As the new ALG program manager, she’ll play a critical role in collaborating with USG faculty and staff implementing open and affordable courses within their curriculum.
